Clinical Respiratory Therapist (Wellspan Respiratory Care) Lebanon - Full Time (Nights)

Under the general supervision of the Pulmonary Services Team Leader, provides respiratory therapy modalities to patients at an intermediate practitioner level according to established standards and practices. Functions as the intermediate clinician in one or more functional areas including, but not limited to, critical care, NICU, pulmonary function, general care, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, skilled nursing/home care and polysomnography. Acts as a resource for Clinical Respiratory Therapist I. May require specialized skills depending on unit assignments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1 Administers respiratory therapy modalities as per the physician, clinical practice guidelines and/or clinical pathway. Charts treatment, response and progress.
2 Performs patient assessment and develops a comprehensive pulmonary care plan.
3 Collaborates with the physician to manage the initiation, maintenance and weaning of patients requiring ventilatory support.
4 Modifies therapy to maximize efficacy of the therapy regimen.
5 Maintains active and support communication with the patient regarding progress, problems, home programs and other issues related to the therapeutic process.
6 Provides quality care consistent with appropriate policies and procedures, quality assessment program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
7 Assumes clinical leadership role for assigned core process area.
8 Serves as a role model/mentor for other staff, new employees and students. Demonstrates characteristics defined as: Willing to teach, as illustrated through interaction with staff that show positive interaction in teaching situations with co-workers; can identify and use resources to solve problems and answer questions. Uses this ability not only to solve problems but to help others; Identifies and participates in Process Improvement initiatives; Exhibits positive behavior and models this behavior in interactions with others; Helps build self-confidence in others by providing constructive feedback in a positive way that enhances the learning process; Committed to sharing knowledge through role modeling and teaching;
1-2 Years working as a clinical respiratory therapist. (Graduates will be considered also)
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and licensure (RCP) in PA;
At least one (1) of the following accreditations: EKG1, ACLS, NRP, PALS, COPD Educator, FCCS, Flight Team, CPFT, RPFT, AE-C, ACCS, RPSGT, or NPS;
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
