Clinical Educator - Mid TN

The role of the Clinical Educator is to ensure that all the Physical Therapists (PTs) and Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) in their market are provided with the highest level of clinical skills and training available in an operationally and clinically relevant manner. This individual is responsible for implementation and coordination of all clinical quality programs and to ensure the quality success of their market.
In addition, the Clinical Educator will ensure through training and development that all Results therapists are best in class orthopedic manual physical therapists with excellence in clinical reasoning skills, movement analysis, manual therapy skills, exercise prescription and progression, and outstanding educators and communicators to our patients. The outcome of excellence in these skills will be objectively measured by clinical quality measures and patient satisfaction scores through FOTO and will be operationally represented by consistent performance on key performance indicators including visits, conversions, cancelation rates, compliant and consistent coding for all licensed clinicians within their market.
The Clinical Educator will be a practicing clinician at .9 FTE and will perform their Clinical Educator duties on days they are not treating. The patient treatment time is based on the number of clinics and clinicians the individual is responsible for and the required programs delivered. The clinical workload will be assessed on a regular basis by the District Operations Leader and modified as needed.
Deliver a specific curriculum developed by the Clinical Quality team via bi- weekly tutorials covering all regions of the body, specific one on one mentoring followed by providing specific objective feedback to the mentee.
Perform a clinical skills check off at two 6 month intervals to ensure high quality and safe delivery of manual therapy, exercise and educational treatment techniques.
Ensure that all students who perform clinical rotations with Results are exposed to a series of 4-5 tutorials for enhancement of clinical reasoning and manual therapy skills while recognizing those students who demonstrate an aptitude for and interest in joining the Results team.
Provide quarterly master class clinical in-services for senior clinicians on emerging or needed topics to ensure our clinicians are up to date on all current and best practice models.
Effectively deliver full series of one day (8 hour) PTA continuing education courses in their respective market.
In coordination with their District Operations Leader, maintain regular liaison with regional universities to establish and promote their profile of the "clinical expert" in the community. This can be done as a guest lecturer, adjunct instructor, attending University job fairs, or as a clinical instructor. Maintain a strong working relationship with the universities in regard to marketing the profile of therapist we look to employ.
Determine continuing education development needs for their respective markets on an annual basis in collaboration with the Clinical Quality Leadership Council.
Works collaboratively with District Operations Leader to identify opportunities for improvement in clinical performance. Review Results Physiotherapy’s educational library or course curriculum content for resources that can aid in the development of appropriate action plans for problem resolution.
Ensure that all clinical staff members are appropriately trained in clinical compliance departmental policies and updates.
- Degree in Physical Therapy from CAPTE approved school or international equivalent program.
- Current Physical Therapy license in state(s) which the individual has Clinical Quality oversight.
- Advanced training in orthopedic residency, manual therapy fellowship, and board certified orthopedic clinical specialist or demonstration of advanced manual therapy training and /or certification.
- Demonstrates clear understanding of current advances and evidence in physical therapy practice.
- Attended all tutorials as a new hire
- Experience teaching/ co-teaching tutorials and PTA courses
- Have completed COMT series with IAMT/strong working knowledge of IAMT curriculum
- Driving record that aligns with Motor Vehicle Policy requirements
- Ability to travel overnight 2-3 times per year and weekly within market.
