  • Act as the company's field representative at critical and highly sensitive base or remote/austere locations, including customer and supplier facilities. 
  • Support hardware and software installation, configuration and troubleshooting on complex integrated network systems. 
  • Support regular, special and integrated system test programs, including scenario-based testing, developmental testing (DT) and operational testing (OT) at company and customer locations.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) representing customer requirements in L-3 ForceX's Agile/Scrum software development cycle.
  • Prepare and conduct training and business development presentations pertinent to company products and services.
  • Support future business development by providing ground and flight demonstration support to partner companies and potential customers.  
  • Constantly maintain L-3 ForceX's exceptional reputation through positive customer interaction.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Closely integrate with multiple agile software development teams, adding subject-matter expertise during the requirements, design, testing and implementation phases of software release.
  • Install equipment, machines, wiring, or software programs to meet specifications.
  • Setup and maintain hardware and software configurations on computer networks, including software integration lab, training simulation and aircraft mission equipment.
  • Provide customer technical support and resolve engineering service calls.
  • Provide direct on-site engineering assistance for integration efforts and test events.
  • Provide in-flight test engineering support.
  • Identify engineering design and software flaws and assist with corrections.
  • Assess human factors design, training and operational issues and provide feedback for improvements.
  • Assist with training development and training execution, including systems training at integrator/support locations and operator training at customer locations.
  • Assist Quality Assurance by providingsubject matter expertise for user and scenario-based testing.
  • Create clear and concise reports, documents and briefing slides for project and executive level meetings.
  • Create ground and flight test cards to support aircraft mission systems and software checks.
  • Coordinate with multiple Program Managers to provide required support within resource constraints, while following programmatic and personnel policy and procedures.
  • Provide ground and flight demonstration support to partner companies and potential customers for future business development.
  •  Assist with new program startups, and serve as a liaison to other rapid/agile acquisition programs. 
  • Required to perform other appropriate duties as requested, directed, or assigned and appropriately task other members of the team when necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the activities of Junior Field Service Engineers or other L-3 ForceX personnel in the absence of higher leadership during on-site and off-site projects and work activities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

• Bachelor's Degree or four (4) years of relevant work experience required
• Holder of a Department of Defense Security Clearance (or ability to obtain one) required
• Holder of a FAA Class II or higher Flight Medical clearance (or the ability to pass one) required
• Two (2) or more years of experience troubleshooting technical and/or software products required
• Appropriate technology industry certifications such as CompTIA's A /Network /Security /Server , Cisco CCNA/CCDA, Microsoft MTA/MCSA, etc. strongly preferred
• Two (2) or more years of experience as an operator of L-3 ForceX software applications strongly preferred
• Experience as a Department of Defense Instructor/Evaluator preferred
Job Knowledge and Abilities: 

• In-depth knowledge of standard systems architecture
• In-depth knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming
• Detailed knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques and procedures to the design and production of company products
• In-depth knowledge of the real-world, tactical applications of L-3 ForceX products
• Ability to troubleshoot system problems to line replaceable unit level
• Ability to creatively evaluate the appropriate actions and procedures to resolve operator issues
• Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn, apply and communicate technical information on a variety of new software applications and hardware systems
• Ability to translate customer requirements into workable development tasks
• Ability to assist in the development of test cases to properly validate software features
• Ability to build positive, lasting relationships with both customers and software development teams
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently, proactively ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance with applicable regulations and norms
• Ability to travel up to 50% (20-25% expected), often on short-notice, including occasional OCONUS trips
