The Fire Sprinkler Inspection/ Service Technician inspects and services fixed fire protection systems. He or she reports to the Service Center Manager and must provide exceptional service to both internal and external customers.

The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of two years of experience in fire protection systems, and has a minimum of Level II NICET certification (or can obtain Level II certification within the first eighteen months of employment). An equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be considered. He or she must meet the physical requirements specified in the Qualifications section. Effective oral and written skills, good time management and customer service skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.

This position will require extensive travel throughout Alabama and Tennessee. 

  • Completes all services following manufacturer instructions, related codes/standards, and Company policies and procedures
  • Schedules inspections with customers to inspect and test fire protection systems and ensure functionality
  • Provides documentation of inspections for Company records, customer records, authorities with jurisdiction, and any other entity required
  • Completes electronic inspection reports using Asurio, obtains customer signature, and attaches electronic report to the appropriate Service Call ID (SCID)
  • Communicates discrepancies, necessary system repairs, and other important issues to the customer
  • Provides documentation and accurate information for needed system repairs to the Service Center Manager
  • Follows up on rescheduled inspections and/or service department repairs to systems with the Company or customer to ensure completion of service
  • Records all time worked in MobilTec daily
  • Markets additional Company services to existing and potential customers
  • Provides on-call availability for customer emergencies and support for special projects as scheduled
  • Trains Technician Trainees as assigned
  • Participates in technical training program to improve job skills
  • Continues to progress on NICET certification for inspection and testing of sprinkler systems
  • Uses authority and makes decisions and to ensure successful transactions and satisfy customers
  • Handles each transaction in a way that positively spreads our Company’s reputation
  • Commits to work until obligations are met, which may result in overtime
  • Completes continuing education necessary to maintain current certifications and/or licenses as required for position
  • Adheres to ALL Company Standards and Procedures, including the Controlled Substances and Alcohol Standard
  • Works safely using good judgment and by following all Company safety policies and work procedures and uses authority to stop an unsafe act
  • Supports other departments of the Company as needed and/or performs other related duties as required
