Job Description
As an Environmental Manager you will support CVS Health facilities in the California market with the development and implementation of environmental compliance programs with an emphasis on hazardous waste management. We are looking for strong working knowledge of California State environmental regulations and a willingness to travel. Experience working in a retail setting is a plus. This position will involve significant field interaction with retail store colleagues, field leadership, operations and corporate teams as well as with external regulatory agencies. Additionally, you will monitor stores’ compliance with corporate environmental programs and act as a technical resource to all CVS Health facilities and will respond to regulatory inspections and notice of violations.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
* Conduct field visits to facilities, assist or train on compliance with environmental programs and to educate colleagues on process. Utilizing available metrics to prioritize store visits to ensure coverage of highest risk locations.
* Respond to regulatory agencies, working with the stores to close any findings and preparing responses to agency notices. Collecting information and analyzing data from reports to identify trends in agency inspections within CA.
* Prepare materials and participating in district and regional level meetings to update field team on environmental compliance trends, calibrating expectations and communicating program enhancements.
* Provide technical expertise in the development of environmental compliance programs including regulatory reviews, applicability assessments, draft process designs, identify performance metrics, and conduct analysis on program metrics and data.
* Track and assess impact of emerging environmental regulations in the California market and perform applicability evaluations to determine the impact to CVS Health operations.
* Develop close partnerships with external regulatory agencies.
* Attendance at industry and stakeholder meetings in California.
* Oversight of retail store metrics in California and management strategy for field EHS specialists and compliance teams.

Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in environmental related field with strong understanding of hazardous waste regulations and California regulatory requirements

Preferred Qualifications
-Related certifications or licenses (CHMM, PE, other)
-Prior retail related experience

Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
